New game-creation software for the Xbox360 “KODU”

As you may have heard microsoft has revealed there newest form of game development software. Due to release in Autumn. Kodu breaks down complex code and puts it into easily understandable icons and equations, and offers a series of objects, characters and terrain creators that enable you to build your own title.

Microsoft research principle program manager and lead Kodu designer Matt Maclaurin (above left) tells us more…

Its origin-
“the project originated around the idea of giving young kids an opportunity to experience the kind of creative power that programmers have – the opportunity to change the way things act, through code.”

its not just for kids-
“while we did work with a fixed palette of objects, you can do a lot of things with materials,lighting andthe camerato come up with something different. I’m working on a first-person submarine combat game that is very dark, with glowing mines bobbing on the water. so you do stay within the options we provide, but they can be combined with a little cleverness to do some unique stuff.”

possibility-
“so far we’ve seen racing games, soccer games, 1980s-style top-down arcade action, pong- and breakout-type gameplay, firstperson combat, adventure games, and a lot of creative stuff in between. if you look through the programming language there are about 200 different programming building blocks, each of which was designed to support a specific type of gameplay. what’s cool is when you see people combining those features to come up with things that are all together now.”

the name-

The birth of Bluebase!

So it finally happened. I now have a use for my artistic flare, creativity, open mind, rational thinking and all that spare time. I have always wanted to make a website of my own but as i dwelled deeper into the cascading knowledge that is HTML i figured what a wast of time it is to start from scratch. So thanks WordPress for saving me the hassle of site building.

The plan is to develop this blog into a fully operational site.
I want to be adding game reviews, Internet tips, videos, images, polls and up to date release times, plus lots more to come.
Keep in mind the site is under construction.
